Billions of the Brood XIX Cicadas have been dormant and waiting for a long time...13 years to be exact! They have been waiting to emerge and 'scream' their LOVE across Tennessee. This particular brood is set to emerge on the scene this Spring for about a month as they try to find mates before hibernating once again.  

These little "Southern Horrors" burrow  into the ground until they are about eight feet underground and they will stay for either 13 or 17 years, depending on which brood they are in!
